When you choose an acne cleanser, make sure you choose correctly. What I have found is that there are generally 3 things you need to look for:
1. Make sure you choose the acne cleanser based on your skin type. You want to make sure your acne cleanser is appropriate depending on whether you have oily skin, dry skin or normal skin. Choosing the wrong acne cleanser can cause further irritation to your skin, which can cause further breakouts.
2. Choose a cleanser with minimal extra medications if you are taking a prescription medication. This extra "layer" of medication in the cleanser can make your prescription medication less effective.
3. Make sure that you choose an acne cleanser that is "mild" or "oil-free." You do not want to choose a cleanser that can cause further irritation because this can lead to further breakouts.
